100th Day of School: A Day to Dress Up

Teachers and students can dress up as 100 year olds! It is so fun to see the creative outfits the students come up with!

Get a wig, hair rollers, or some baby powder for your hair.

Find clothes at a thrift store or borrow clothes from a grandparent.

A cane or a walker adds a great touch!

100th Day of School: Math Ideas

The 100th Day of School lends itself to doing some fun things in math!

How many ways to make 100?

Students list as many ways as they can to make 100.

Students can use addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division when making 100.

I like to encourage my students to think outside the box when completing this activity.

I give the students a time limit – usually 5 minutes – to see how many different ways they can come up with.

After the time is up, we share and I record those ways on chart paper.

The answer is 100, what is the problem?

The next thing I do in math is have the students create a problem where the answer is 100.

I encourage students who are struggling to pick a number sentence from the ways to make 100 chart. This gives them a starting point and they just have to pick a topic for their word problem.

The early finishers get to write a second problem on the back of their paper!

100th Day of School Mystery Picture

Students love mystery pictures! I created a mystery picture for the 100th Day of School. When we gave homework, this is what I sent home. If you no longer give homework, you can always have the students complete it during class.

The students solve all the problems at the bottom of the paper.

After they solve the problems, they color in the answer on the 100 chart.

It makes a fun picture when they are finished. Can you guess what the picture is?
